Current NYSAND Legislative Efforts

(May 2019)

This Therapeutic Diet Order Summary Document provides you with the information you need to fully understand the purpose of our Therapeutic Diet Order bills. This will empower you to have persuasive conversations with your legislators as well as your physician colleagues.

The letter template (word format) is available so you can send to your physician colleagues so they too can write/call the sponsors of our bills (Assembly Member Jaffee and Senator Rivera).

At the end of the informational/summary document we also provide the websites for the Medical Society of the State of NY and the Hospital Association of New York State, as it is critical that our physician colleagues contact these organizations and ask them to support this legislation as well.

This is very achievable if we all make our voices heard!!

Friends of Association letter of support
The support of a written letter for the licensure bill from other health care professionals (MD, DO, PA, RNP, RN, PharmD, Health Care Administrators, etc.) or clients that have appreciated the work of an RDN will be beneficial. Here is a sample letter to share, when you have determined that a person is willing to write a letter.
