| The Distinguished Dietitian Award |
The Distinguished Dietitian Award recognizes outstanding service to NYSDA and the profession of dietetics. |
| Outstanding Dietetics Educator for a DI program |
The purpose of the Outstanding Dietetics Educator Award program is to recognize the teaching, mentoring, and leadership activities of faculty and preceptors for an ADA-accredited and approved dietetics education program. Each area’s Dietetics Educators of Practitioners group may recognize one Outstanding Educator for each type of dietetics program. The recipient of this award is nominated by NYSDA but selected by ADA. |
| Isabelle A. Hallahan Award for Excellence in Food Service |
The Isabelle A. Hallahan Award for Excellence in Food Service recognizes the provision of quality food service by a female dietitian. The award honors both the recipient, and Isabelle Hallahan, a fearless leader in the field of dietetics. |
| Outstanding Dietetics Educator for a DPD program |
The purpose of the Outstanding Dietetics Educator Award program is to recognize the teaching, mentoring, and leadership activities of faculty and preceptors for an ADA-accredited and approved dietetics education program. | Emerging Dietetic Leader Award |
The Emerging Dietetic Leader award recognizes the accomplishments of dietitians, regardless age, who have made distinctive contributions to ADA early in their dietetics career. Recipients must be a member of ADA and an active participant in state and district associations for at least 5 years, but no greater than 10 years. |
| Media Excellence Award |
The Media Excellence Award recognizes media involvement for at least three years that promotes scientifically sound nutrition information and the profession of dietetics. |
| The Jack Bellick Award |
The Jack Bellick Award is granted by the New York State Dietetic Association to honor both the recipient and Mr. Bellick. Its purpose is to recognize the consistent participation of a student member or active member (credentialed within the past 3 years) in district or state activities. |
| The Recognized Young Dietitian of the Year |
The Recognized Young Dietitian of the Year recognizes the accomplishments of young dietitians. In order to qualify you must be age 35 or younger. |

The outstanding dietetics student award recognizes the emerging leadership and achievement of students in CADE –accredited and approved dietetic education programs. The award goes to one student in each of the following programs: Didactic program in dietetics, Dietetic Internship, Dietetic Technician, and Coordinated Program. |

2009 Honors
Jennifer Bueche PhD, RD, CDN, Associate Professor and Director, M.S. – Nutrition and Dietetics Program (online combined masters degree and dietetic internship program) at SUNY Oneonta is Chair of the Nutrition Care Process and Standardized Language Committee of the American Dietetic Association (NCP-SL) this year. The NCP-SL Committee guides the refinement of and change management activities to implement the Nutrition Care Process, and continues the research and development of Standardized Language to capture the elements of the Nutrition Care Process and other aspects of this system to deal with appropriate coding and related topics.
NYSDA Member Sandra McNeil, MA, RD, CDN, FADA, Glen Falls, NY, Recently Appointed by ADA Quality Management Committee and Headquarters Team . to represent ADA on the national quality organizations' measures initiatives at Stanford University and the University of California - offering her expertise to evaluate and refine existing Prevention Quality Indicators of Diabetes Mellitus.
2008 Honors
Allison Parker, RD, Wegmans Buffalo Division Nutritionist, Allison Parker, was recently recognized by the American Dietetic Association Foundation with the Susan T. Borra Award. The award is presented to help deserving individuals enhance their capabilities in the area of nutrition communication to the public in an academic or professional setting, or other public venue. Allison was presented with her award at the ADAF’s annual conference in Chicago..
2007 Honors
Constance Brown-Riggs, MSEd, RD, CDE, CDN, Diabetes Educator of the year award from Diabetes Care and Education DPG.
2006 Honors
Sandra McNeil, MA,RD,CDN,FADA -Sandi, Co Chair of Delegates for NYSDA, will be chairing the ADA Quality Management Committee this year.
Maye Musk, MS, RD,CDN 2006 Outstanding Nutrition Entrepreneur Award Winner.
William Proulx, PhD,RD Human Ecology Chair, SUNY Oneonta. Dr Proulx was selected to serve on a panel that will guide the selection of performance measures in a monograph related to " Measuring and Improving Care for Osteoporosis: A Proposal to Identify and Disseminate Performance Measures."
Judith Wylie-Rosett, EdD, RD is recipient of the American Dietetic Association’s 2006 Award for Excellence in Dietetics Research.
