Welcome to NYSDA
The New York State Dietetic Association (NYSDA) is one of the largest groups of nutrition professionals in New York State. With more than 5000 members NYSDA provides credible nutrition information to the citizenry of New York and educational and legislative support to the field. Our membership is made up of nutrition professionals who work and/or live in New York State.
NYSDA is committed to leading the future of the dietetics profession and its members while serving the public through the promotion of optimal nutrition and well-being. We envision that NYSDA members will be the most valued source of food and nutrition services.
We are well-poised to realize our vision. The range of expertise of our members is wide with members working in clinical care, private practice, education, industry, community agencies and physician offices. Our members are authors, free lance writers, consultants, speakers, volunteers and practitioners. Our members are passionate about dietetics and leading the field through their work and volunteer activities. As food and nutrition experts, we work to be involved wherever our expertise is needed, especially in the areas of obesity and chronic disease management. Our members are experts in translating the science of food and nutrition into practical solutions and are committed to evidence-based practice and safe, high-quality care.
To our friends of the association, we invite you to support our efforts to achieve licensure of dietitians in New York State. Licensure is one way that residents of New York State could be better protected from fraudulent and unsafe nutrition practice. NYSDA is committed to protecting the public from undereducated and under-trained providers of services and we need everyone’s help to support this cause. If you would like to help residents of New York State through getting involved with NYSDA’s efforts to achieve licensure, we would be happy to hear from you.
